Nearly all the glassware in Huis Sonneveld came from the Leerdam factory, which made affordable and well-designed products. Leerdam glass was therefore popular in progressive circles. A number of artists made designs for the factory. The Sonnevelds' glasses, including the champagne glasses, were designed by K.P.C. de Bazel, a well-known designer and architect. The water set was created by Cornelis de Lorm and some of the vases, such as the bowl-shaped and oval ones, were by Andries Copier. Copier's designs are powerful because their shapes are so simple. The bowl-shaped vase is flattened at the bottom so that it stands upright, and has only a small opening at the top so that the bowl shape remains intact. When the Sonnevelds were living here, the vases were filled with flowers and placed in the sitting room. We know from photographs that these included chrysanthemums and lilies.
